Lifestyle Sealed with a Kiss Wedding

6 Months Til the Wedding (Sealed with a Kiss)

Hello, everyone following along with my wedding updates. I am back with this month’s update. Everything is really falling into place and looking beautiful. I haven’t had any bridezilla moments yet. I am still following my planner, and it is making this an effortless move. Well, let’s get into it.

Arranging Transportation to and from the Wedding

Well, this was super easy for me because everyone will take their own cars. The venue we picked is local, and most of our family live relatively close. I decided against a limo because I was going to be at the venue early to help with setting up and getting ready in the bridal suite. So no one would actually see me get out of the limo. Plus I wanted my dress to be a surprise. My fiancé and I will also be staying till the end of the party so everyone would be gone and no one would see us drive off into the sunset. So no limo.

Send Save the Date Cards

I also decided not to do the whole save the date cards because no one was coming from far. So a regular invitation is more than enough notice.

Book your Honeymoon

We decided to go to Florida. My family gifted us our resort stay. It’s Westgate lakes and spa; it’s a very nice place. We just had to pick our day and order airplane tickets. Traveling is still a little complicated at the moment with covid. So I am still watching ticket prices for a good deal. Who doesn’t love a good deal, right? We looked online to find things to do and see besides each other.😉 We decided to go to my favorite parks Universal and Islands of Adventure.

And of course, we’re going to go to a baseball game for my fiancé. I have actually never been to a baseball game, so this will be the first time. Then, of course, we’re going to the beach, and the rest of the time we will just be enjoying each other’s company.

Order Bridesmaid’s Dresses

One month after getting engaged, I started looking at bridesmaid dresses. I found one and had the girls order them. All the dresses arrived quickly, well, all but one. So it’s definitely something you don’t want to wait too long to get. The girls just have to get the alterations whenever they’re ready. I did pink and rose gold dresses for the girls, and all rose gold for my maid of honor.

Meet with Florist to decide on Bouquet and Centerpieces

One thing I have learned through this process is flowers are costly. I didn’t want a ton of flowers. I simply couldn’t justify spending all that money on something that would die in a few hours. I actually ended up ordering flowers from Shop Rite, and it was so much cheaper. I paid less than $1000 on all the flowers, including my bouquet, bridesmaid’s flowers, corsages, and boutonnières. I am fortunate enough not to have to buy centerpieces because the venue already provided them.

Register for Gifts

Registering for gifts was a difficult task because my fiancé and I did not have a place yet. So I went to Pinterest and looked up registry lists and picked things based on that. I had also already started to purchase items I knew we would need when I found them on sale—things like pots and pans, dishes, and bakeware. I also just asked my mom what she thought I should add to my list, and she gave me good ideas.

Discuss Ceremony Ideas and Wording with Officiant

Our officiant is our Pastor, so he will be reading from the Bible. So we just informed him about the amount of time that we have the room. We needed to make sure everything was going to fit.

So that’s all I have for this month. Next month will be another DIY. I have a few wedding crafts to do. But like always, thanks for stopping by for Sealed by a Kiss.
