A recent article from wrestlingnews.co stated that NJPW star Kazuchika Okada proposed a “supershow” once the global pandemic has concluded. Okada has suggested that all the major wrestling promotions in the world get together for a super collaboration to thank wrestling fans. The article states that Kazuchika named NJPW, AEW, CMLL, AAA, and even WWE join forces. So we will look at what an event like that could and would mean for the wrestling world.
Could this EVER Happen?
The simple answer is no. WWE Chairman Vince McMahon would never allow his “superstars” to compete in such a show. Vince would require that all of his superstars “go over” so that WWE doesn’t look inferior. And because of that, this will never happen. However, we can speculate on what it could be for wrestling fans.
Supershow Would Uplift & Break the Internet
A wrestling show that would combine the talents of AAA, CMLL, NJPW, AEW, and WWE would be absolutely LEGENDARY!!! Think of the incredible bouts that would otherwise not be seen today. Kenny Omega versus Roman Reigns, Kazuchika Okada versus AJ Styles. Pentagon Jr & Rey Fénix versus Tama Tongo & Tanga Loa. The SuperCard that could be crafted would be the greatest card in pro wrestling history.
The Okada pro wrestling Supershow would also generate an unprecedented amount of buys on pay-per-view. The level of money that a show like this would accumulate would be capable of just printing money. Fans of pro wrestling would fantasize over the in-numerous possible combinations that could be booked. We could even see an event like this take place over a two-day span like Wrestlelamia was in 2020.
Featured on the Card
Now, when it comes to a proposed Supershow of this magnitude, the names that could be attached would be epic. But the possible names would also be limitless. And everyone would have their own preferred card as well. So let me know who would make their way onto your “Okada Supershow Spectacular.” For me, certain names stand out as must-haves on a card like this wishful show.
Wrestlers like Kenny Omega, Jon Moxley, the Young Bucks, Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, Pentagon Jr, Rey Fénix, Hangman Page, MJF, PAC, and that’s just some from AEW that I’d want on that card. Names like Okada, Tetsuya Naito, Kota Ibushi, Tomohiro Ishii, Jay White, Kenta, and the Bullet Club would represent a few from New Japan. And a laundry list of names from WWE like Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, the Usos, AJ Styles, Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura, Tommaso Ciampa, Adam Cole, The Fiend, and many more. Fitting all these names onto that Supershow card would be a whole ‘nother story.
Wonderful However Unachievable Idea
The idea of paying fans back for their loyalty through a difficult time is an incredible idea by Kazuchika Okada. However, even if all the other promotions agree, WWE would never entertain such a Supershow. Thus, it will remain a wonderful idea and something to dream about, but sadly, it is not a real show.
