Tomorrow night AEW will put on a show entitled Fight for the Fallen. And the charitable effort by All Elite Wrestling in terms of the proceeds for this event. They will be met with direct opposition by Evolve Wrestling (with the help of WWE) for viewership. And while the Evolve event will be worth going back to watch, this piece will chronical three reasons to watch Fight for the Fallen live.
The Brothers Rhodes
When it comes to pro wrestling, the basic premise is physical storytelling. And the emotional upheaval that was witnessed at Double or Nothing from Cody and Dustin Rhodes was intense. And that battle was some of the most heart-wrenching drama I have seen inside a wrestling ring in basically ever. It’s no secret that I am a huge advocate for All Elite Wrestling. However, anyone claiming a love of wrestling had to catch the “feels” on that match.
Chris Jericho Has a Live Mic
The AEW roster has some legendary names on it, none bigger than Chris Jericho. And while not scheduled to compete in a match on Fight for the Fallen, Chris Jericho is set to have a segment on the show with a live microphone. The “Highlight Reel” on WWE tv was some of the most entertaining segments in WWE. And with AEW set to launch a weekly television product a similar talk show type segment should be afforded to Jericho. So Fight for the Fallen should provide an excellent introductory platform for what Jericho does next.
What Will Happen with Shawn Spears
The biggest talking point to come out of Fyter Fest was the (unprotected) chair shot heard round the world. And deliverer of said chair shot is set to team with the “close friend” of Cody, MJF. This matchup will be volatile, to say the least, because of the hardcore contingent that will be facing Spears team of MJF and Sammy Guevara. Joey Janela, Jimmy Havoc, and Darby Allin will bring the fight and the pain. But gotta believe that is will be another salvo by Spears that will be the biggest blow in the contest.
