The New York Yankees have been dealing with a lot of adversity so far this season. But on Saturday, April 20th the Yankees were dealt their most significant loss of the season. Aaron Judge delivered a single to right field but was visibly hurt on the swing. And the report has Aaron Judge sidelined for an unknown amount of time.

Significant Loss
The Yankees unofficial Captain is Aaron Judge, Judge is also their best player. This loss delivers a double blow as Aaron not just the best player but a clubhouse leader. And with the “significant strain” there is currently no timetable for his return. The next two weeks are going to be strictly about rest. After the two weeks, then a tentative timeline should become more apparent. The Yankees have the majority of the best players now on the IL. The injuries have piled up in such a way that when players get healthy, this team will feel like we’ve acquired several All-Stars.

More Than Capable
The team currently on the field for the Yankees isn’t a team ever envisioned to take the field this season. And as the old saying goes “necessity is the mother of all invention.” And right now the lineups being used daily are the epitome of necessary inventions. Just take a look at the lineup for Sunday’s finale against the Kansas City Royals.
We go for the series win today.

Not exactly the expected lineup when Spring Training commenced. But as you saw with that lineup, the team is more than capable of scratching, clawing, and fighting it’s way to victory. And that’s going to have to be the mentality until our players get back off the IL.
Stepping Up Thunderously
The Yankees have had to rely on players that wouldn’t have thought they would need this season. One player that was expected to contribute at some point this year has stepped up massively. Clint Frazier has been playing like a man who doesn’t want to ever put on any uniform other than the Navy Blue Pinstripes of the Yankees.
It has been a tough start to the season but if “the next man up” can play like Frazier the Yankees will be able to endure the losses and triumph.
