The team of Sasha Banks and Bayley, known by their moniker the Boss N Hug Connection. They earned the crowning of the First Ever WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships inside the Elimination Chamber. So with Banks and Bayley taking on Nia Jax and Tamina at Fastlane. We look ahead at who could be their potential opponents at Wrestlemania. Here are three options for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Sky Pirates (Io Shirai & Kairi Sane)
One of the best teams you may not know is the team of Io Shirai and Kairi Sane affectionately known as the Sky Pirates. These two incredible NXT Superstars are doing some of the best tag team work in WWE. And when you see how they have elevated the still relatively green Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke to look as imposing as they do. It is a testament to how talented Shirai and Sane are. And a testament as to why they deserve an opportunity at the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.
Now setting this matchup could be very easy. You could have the teams in NXT battle it out for the opportunity to face off with the Boss N Hug Connection. Sasha and Bayley could make their way to NXT and challenge the top team. Now the better option for a match between the Sky Pirates and the Boss N Hug Connection would be at NXT Takeover New York the Friday before Wrestlemania.
Fire & Desire (Sonya Deville & Mandy Rose)
The first two teams inside the Elimination Chamber were Bog N Hug and the team of Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose. The responsibility and honor were placed on the shoulders of these two teams. And it arguably could have been these two teams to face off against one another for the first title opportunity. However, giving these two remarkable teams a much bigger platform like that of Wrestlemania would better suit their worthwhile talent level.
Booking this match is as simple as already stated. Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville could claim they are the rightful number one contenders. Being the last team standing off with the eventual champions. And given the chemistry that these teams showed inside the chamber it very well will be a memorable contest.
Team Bestie (Trish Stratus & Lita)
This legendary two-some captivated the WWE Universe with their return during WWE Evolution. And since then the idea of Sasha Banks & Bayley taking on Trish Stratus and Lita has been one of the biggest selling points for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. When you take the two women who arguably set the bar during the “Attitude Era” for what Women’s Wrestling could be in the future. And you pair them off with the two women that set the world on fire in NXT leading to a revolution. And you put them in the same ring on the biggest stage, it breeds magic.
The booking for this one is as simple as the others. Two sets of best friends facing off. The two women who revolutionized women’s wrestling in the early 2000s. Taking on the two women that helped create an evolution.
