WWE: Predicting the 2019 Royal Rumble Winners

The road to Wrestlemania is paved on the back of the WWE Royal Rumble. And the Royal Rumble is the most unpredictable match in the WWE. And yesterday we gave some ideas for some surprise entrants into the great event. But on today’s article, we are going to be examining those WWE Superstars who have the potential and probability to win the Royal Rumble match itself. So here are our predictions for the Royal Rumble Winners.

Men’s Royal Rumble

No. 3: Finn Balor

Finn Balor is a fan favorite that has been criminally underused. Balor doesn’t fit the mold of Vince McMahon’s “Top Dog” form. And we know that because aside from his inaugural Universal Championship victory. Finn hasn’t sniffed the Universal Championship. Outside of ONE throw away title fight against Roman Reigns, the night after Reigns won the title.

Finn has all the making of a top superstar in WWE. The crowd is always behind Finn ready to push him to the moon. But that’s if the WWE decision makers decide to put the rocket on him in the first place.

No. 2: Drew McIntyre

Since Drew’s return to WWE, he has been the “Superstar” that Vince McMahon was looking for so many years ago during his first run with the company. And it is this form of Drew McIntyre that is truly championship caliber. McIntyre has dominated everyone, including getting the best of even Braun Strowman at certain points.

With that type of momentum behind him, we could very easily see Drew walking out of Pheonix, Arizona as the winner of the men’s Royal Rumble match. If it weren’t for our next pick.

No. 1: Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins has been building himself back up following the devastating knee injury suffered a few years ago. And if the rumors are to be believed, all Seth’s hard work are set to pay off at Wrestlemania 35. Now in order to make that a reality, Seth has to win the Royal Rumble. The WWE has been using Seth as almost the “Voice of the Voiceless” (aka the WWE Universe) to air the grievances of the fans.

One of those grievances is the WWE Universal champion, himself, Brock Lesnar. Lesnar is barely on television, and therefore the Universal Championship is rarely seen. So Seth winning the Rumble can propel him into the main event spotlight against one of the most recognizable names in the industry. And it’s because of the build that Seth is likely the 2019 Men’s Royal Rumble winner.

Women’s Royal Rumble

No. 3: Ruby Riott

While some may see the selection of Ruby Riott as a long shot or even just click bait. I believe Ruby has a very good chance to pull out the victory. The Riott Squad seem poised to do some impressive things this year. And with the announcement of Women’s Tag Team Championships, the Riott Squad could look to capture all the gold.

Ruby as the leader of the rebellious crew could use her stablemates to aid her in the quest of winning the Women’s Rumble match. And then Ruby could go on to challenge the champ of her choice. Thus beginning the Riott Era.

No. 2: Alexa Bliss

While Bliss has been sidelined with concussion issues, it is likely that she will be fine by the time the Rumble takes place. And as a favorite of WWE management, Bliss always has a chance to receive a push. Alexa has all the charisma and talent needed to have the Women’s division on lock. And much like Ruby Riott, Alexa has Mickie James and Alicia Fox at the helm to deploy if needed.

Bliss is already a multiple time Women’s Champion. And the Goddess was the first women to claim both the RAW and Smackdown Live Women’s Championships. Seeing Bliss at the top of WWE once again would not be a surprise.

No. 1: Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair

Yes, I understand this can be seen as cop-out answer as there are two women in this selection. But when seeing exactly how the story is being laid out, it is the most plausible outcome. In what will be a similar spot to many Rumbles before it, both Becky and Charlotte’s feet will hit the floor simultaneously causing controversy in the decision of the winner. This lack of a decision will lead to a match at the February Pay-Per-View. A match which too will not yield a winner. And the no-decision contest (likely ending a double DQ or count-out loss) will lead to a triple threat match against Ronda Rousey.

The three-way feud between Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Ronda Rousey has been told wonderfully so far. And with the talent of all three women invovled it will elevate the entire WWE Women’s Division to unprecented levels. This triple threat match will also make history, as the “First Ever” Women’s Wrestlemania Main Event.
