2 Breakout Candidates for the NY Yankees

The New York Yankees are the most iconic franchise in the history of Major League Baseball. And most that have ever played the game of baseball want to don the legendary Pinstripes at least once in their careers. Once you make the Bronx your home you want to be a Superstar. And these two players could be the next breakout Yankee Superstar.

Clint Frazier

Starting with an obvious one Clint Frazier was one a highly regarded prospects. However, since then, Frazier has dealt with injuries that have derailed much of his momentum towards superstardom. But he remains a highly coveted piece in trade conversation. Clint Frazier faced concussion issues that wiped out his entire 2018 season. And left many questions of what the future could hold for the once 5th overall selection.

In 2019 Frazier can receive the opportunity that has seemingly been on the horizon since his 2016 acquisition by the Yankees. And with an aging Brett Gardner and the oft-injured Jacoby Ellsbury being his competition for the starting Left Field job. Frazier seems poised to breakout and take hold of superstardom with the New York Yankees.

Stephen Tarpley

Stephen Tarpley made his Major League debut on September 2nd, against the Detroit Tigers. And throughout the rest of the season only pitched 9 innings for the Yanks. But in 2019 Tarpley could find himself as an extremely important (and low cost) attack from the Yankees bullpen.

With many reports surfacing that both David Robertson and Zach Britton are likely not returning to New York. Because they are looking for closer jobs in 2019. Stephen Tarpley as the second lefty in the pen could find himself securing valuable outs for the Pinstripers.
