As we approach closer and closer to the trade deadline teams are now making calls to try and bolster their rosters. And we had the first domino of the Summer fall in D.C. But let’s take a look at some of the other big news around MLB. And check back at last week’s recap.
Herrera to Nationals
Kelvin Herrera the Kansas City Royals closer was traded to the Washington Nationals. The Nationals have had bullpen struggles in the playoffs over the last few years. But they have jumped the market to help fortify that weakness into a strength. This trade starts the MLB Trade Deadline season.

Superb Soto
Nationals rookie outfielder Juan Soto is an absolute stud of a baseball player. At 19 years old he is mashing the ball like few others. Including some monster blast at Yankee Stadium and Nats Park.

Yankees Minor Leaguer Throws Out First Pitch?
New York Yankees minor league infielder Russell Wilson (who also happens to be the Seattle Seahawks Quarterback) threw out the first pitch of the Seattle Mariners vs. Boston Red Sox game.
Hey isn’t that guy a Yankees prospect? 🤔

Special Father’s Day First Pitch
Seattle Continues the first pitch spectacular. As Prince Felix throwing out the first pitch to King Felix himself. An incredibly heartwrenching moment to witness on Father’s Day.

Who Said Pitcher’s Aren’t Athletes?
NY Yankees ace Luis Severino proves the old baseball cliché of pitchers not being athletes wrong. As he leaped high over catcher Gary Sanchez to catch a foul pop behind home plate. Severino has been pitching incredibly well for the Yankees. To the tune of a 2.24 era with 123 strikeouts in just 104.2 innings pitched.
CC’s reaction to this Sevy snag is too good 😂

Colon Pass Marichal
Bartolo Colon won his 244th game in the MLB. This passed Juan Marichal for the record held for most wins by a Dominican born player. Colon continues to defy the odds and pitch somewhat effectively. It will be interesting to see how much longer Bartolo can pitch for and just how many wins he ends up with.

There’s No One Better Than Trout
Mike Trout just continues to get better each and every season. Recently Trout was on a tear where his batting average was .696 with 4 home runs and 9 rbi’s.
