Wrestlemania is coming quickly and while some storylines are taking shape while others are very much undecided. So taking the initiative here are my ideas for the Wrestlemania Match List.
As this is fantasy booking I decided to book 15 matches. This list are matches that may be actual possibilities. So anyone not currently under the “WWE” banner in some way shape or form would not qualify to be apart of this list. (Also fyi this list will be in no particular order).
UNIVERSAL CHAMPIONSHIP: NO HOLDS BARRED MATCH: BROCK LESNAR (c) vs BRAUN STROWMAN
Lesnar and Strowman is the match that has been brewing for the WWE for months and what better time to give it to the people unfiltered than at Wrestlemania.
WINNER: BRAUN STROWMAN
WWE CHAMPIONSHIP: AJ STYLES (c) vs SHINSUKE NAKAMURA
We’ve seen this match at Wrestle Kingdom in Japan but no it’s time for the biggest stage Wrestlemania.
WINNER: AJ STYLES
INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP: THE MIZ (c) vs DANIEL BRYAN
Ok now I known this is somewhat of a loophole but Daniel has been cleared to compete by numerous doctors outside of WWE. So I will use my fantasy booking executive order and allow Daniel to compete to avenge the abuse and ridicule he endured when The Miz was on Smackdown Live.
WINNER: THE MIZ
UNITED STATESCHAMPIONSHIP: BOBBY ROODE (c) VS RUSEV
Rusev Day has gotten over hugely with the WWE Universe and what better way to capitalize on this than to place him in a title match. Bobby Roode is an accomplished competitor in the squared circle and it will be an interesting contest.
WINNER: BOBBY ROODE
RAW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP: SASHA BANKS (c) vs BAYLEY
Ok now to set this match up, these two women have had some of the best matches I have ever watched. And I want them to have the opportunity to showcase that talent of the “Grandest Stage of the All” Wrestlemania. Now for this to be possible Sasha Banks wins the first ever women’s elimination chamber match becoming champion. Beating Bayley as the last two win in the chamber. Sasha turns on Bayley and earning herself the victory and thus this match at Mania.
WINNER: SASHA BANKS
SMACKDOWN LIVE WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP: CHARLOTTE FLAIR (c) vs ASUKA
Now here’s the thing with the WWE’s booking at times they stated that the Women’s Royal Rumble winner would get to choose her Wrestlemania opponent. However, Asuka never made a selection due to the debut of Ronda Rousey. So taking again some creative liberties Asuka will choose to challenge Charlotte for the Smackdown Live Women’s Championship instead of the Raw Women’s Champion.
WINNER: ASUKA
But wait F.A.B.O.L.O.U.S rings out loudly and Carmella rushes down to the ring after a grueling contest between Charlotte and Asuka and Carmella successfully cashes in her Money in the Bank contract on Asuka and give Asuka her first loss in WWE.
WINNER: CARMELLA
SOUL FOR SOUL: THE UNDERTAKER vs DEMON BALOR
As the long standing ruler of the underworld the Undertaker has laid claim to many souls and a few demons however this Wrestlemania the Demon lays claim to the reaper. And the Demon King now controls the keys to hades and begins the streak anew.
WINNER: DEMON BALOR
WOKEN MATT HARDY VS BRAY WYATT
Yes I realized we got this match at the Raw 25th anniversary show and that it didn’t live up to the hype. So we are redoing it and this time the match will have a better build and the time to truly tell the proper in ring story.
WINNER: WOKEN MATT HARDY with an assist to BROTHER NERO
FRIENDS TURNED FOES PART 1: ALEXA BLISS vs NIA JAX
These real life best friends have true chemistry and that can translate into gold in the ring. With Alexa’s smaller stature she will use her cunning and quickness to try and outsmart Nia. Nia will obviously use her strength against Alexa making the tale of David vs Goliath in that old school pro wrestling kind of way. Nia uses this match as a step to becoming Women’s Champion.
WINNER: NIA JAX
FRIENDS TURNED FOES PART 2: SAMI ZAYN vs KEVIN OWENS
Yep we have seen this moving before but it is so awesome let’s have it again. KO & Zayn have brilliant chemistry than no matter how “Generico” we make the match it will still keep my interest at a pre-“Steen” level. Ok sorry for the bad but I couldn’t help myself. but all kidding aside these two real life best friends work amazing together and I never get tired of their matches together.
WINNER: DOESN’T EVEN MATTER
THE BATTLE OF THE NEXT SHAWN MICHAELS: SETH ROLLINS vs ADAM COLE
Seth Rollins & Adam Cole are two of the best pro wrestlers in WWE. There styles are similar to that or Mr. Wrestlemania himself Shawn Michaels. These two guys can continue the legacy and become the faces of WWE.
WINNER: ADAM COLE
GRUDGE MATCH OF THE YEAR: TOMMASO CIAMPA vs JOHNNY GARGANO
From friends to tag team partners to now bitter rivals, this grudge match is going to dominate NXT leading to Wrestlemania.
WINNER: JOHNNY GARGANO
RAW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP 4 WAY DANCE: THE BAR (c) vs THE REVIVIAL vs GALLOWS & ANDERSON vs UNDISPUTED ERA
So Wrestlemania being the grandest stage of them all we must have all championships defended in my opinion and what better way to show case teams than in an elimination style contest.
WINNER: UNDISPUTED ERA
SMACKDOWN LIVE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP 4 WAY DANCE: THE USOS vs BLUDGEON BROTHER vs AUTHORS of PAIN vs SANITY
What works for Raw works for Smackdown Live. A championship 4 way elimination match
WINNER: THE USO
NEW #1 CONTENDER FOR THE WWE UNIVERSAL CHAMPIONSHIP: JOHN CENA vs ROMAN REIGNS vs ELIAS vs SAMOA JOE
Obviously the WWE would not have Wrestlemania without it’s two “Main Attractions” (cough..cough) so fitting them into my match list was difficult. While both Cena and Reigns have improved over the years, I don’t feel the should be in the spot light and thus they get put into this match to put over Samoa Joe and Elias.
WINNER: SAMOA JOE
